This is more a challenge for myself than anyone else in our little dis-n-dat circle: learning to do Ana forrest's strengthening routine. I did great on The Basic Moves segment (ha, ha) but the rest will take mucho work. Anyone interested in ipoding it to take to Alaska for daily workouts?
Oh why do I get myself into these things...will I never learn to shut my mouth!

Mastering this video is on my to-do list too! My advice: Take it slow. Honor your body. Make sure your practice is joyful (and not a horrid chore).
My fitness goal this year is to strengthen my back and by extension my abs (and yes Monique I know I need to strengthen my chest and shoulders:-). Core work is the focus of the video.
My yoga teacher, Catherine, is a wonderful example of strength and poise. As I grow older strength is more important to me -- in some ways I am stronger now than when I was 30). Here's Catherine's website: http://www.yogasublime.com/index.html.
It's inspiring.
Lala mama: what's your intention? This is something Catherine has asked us to consider.
Intention - good question. Intuitively and logically, I know that I should be working on strengthening my body. I am fundamentally lazy, however, and it helps me to initially announce a public challenge to motivate me to do something. I'mm hoping this year will be the year that I take charge of myself and not need others to help me to do what I know that i should be doing.
This is the Year of the Rat, the first sign in the Chinese zodiac and signifies new beginnings. Maybe, just maybe...
